Alan Young co-founded Baker Young more than 40 years ago following a distinguished career as one of Australia’s leading fund managers at National Mutual (now AXA/AMP), where he managed some of the company’s top-performing investment portfolios.

Widely regarded as an innovative investment specialist and business leader, Alan has played a significant role in the establishment and growth of numerous South Australian businesses and major projects spanning health and medical research, education, media, the arts, viticulture, and technology.

Awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2009 for services to the community, Alan has been instrumental in landmark initiatives including the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer Care, and the Adelaide Central School of Art. His strengths lie in business development, strategic investment, and long-term enterprise growth.

David Baker is one of Australia’s most experienced full-service stockbrokers, with more than 50 years in the financial services industry. At just 27, he became the youngest non-family member appointed to the Adelaide Stock Exchange.

In 1985, David co-founded Baker Young alongside Alan Young, helping build the firm into one of South Australia’s leading independent investment and advisory businesses. Throughout his career, he has been recognised as a respected industry leader, commentator, and public speaker, regularly sought after for his insights into financial markets and investment trends.

Beyond the financial sector, David has made a significant contribution to the community through his involvement with health, sport, and charitable organisations. He has served as a delegate at multiple Paralympic Games and was appointed a National Men’s Health Ambassador in 2009. His longstanding support of Australian Paralympic athletes earned formal recognition from the Prime Minister of Australia.
